The Mesa project is as an open-source implementation of the OpenGL specification - a system for rendering interactive 3D graphics. This package provides examples and demos of Mesa's capabilities, among them the examples from the ``Red Book'' (_OpenGL Programming Guide_, published by Addison-Wesley; ISBN 0-201-63274-8).
Binary packages can be installed with the high-level tool pkgin (which can be installed with pkg_add) or pkg_add(1) (installed by default). The NetBSD packages collection is also designed to permit easy installation from source.
The pkg_admin audit command locates any installed package which has been mentioned in security advisories as having vulnerabilities.
