KConfig provides an advanced configuration system. It is made of two parts: KConfigCore and KConfigGui. KConfigCore provides access to the configuration files themselves. It features: - Code generation: describe your configuration in an XML file, and use kconfig_compiler to generate classes that read and write configuration entries. - Cascading configuration files (global settings overridden by local settings). - Optional shell expansion support. - The ability to lock down configuration options. KConfigGui provides a way to hook widgets to the configuration so that they are automatically initialized from the configuration and automatically propagate their changes to their respective configuration files.

Binary packages can be installed with the high-level tool pkgin (which can be installed with pkg_add) or pkg_add(1) (installed by default). The NetBSD packages collection is also designed to permit easy installation from source.
The pkg_admin audit command locates any installed package which has been mentioned in security advisories as having vulnerabilities.
Please note the vulnerabilities database might not be fully accurate, and not every bug is exploitable with every configuration.
Problem reports, updates or suggestions for this package should be reported with send-pr.
