Tools to access and modify a file system image without having to mount it. Classic commands included (prefixed with fsu_): * cat, diff, du, find, ls, stat * chflags, chmod, chown, mv, rm, rmdir * cp, ln, mkdir, mkfifo, mknod, touch New commands: * fsu_ecp (cp-like which allows the user to get/put files from/to the image) * fsu_exec (executes a local command like text editor on a file from the image) * fsu_write (writes its input in a file on the image)
Binary packages can be installed with the high-level tool pkgin (which can be installed with pkg_add) or pkg_add(1) (installed by default). The NetBSD packages collection is also designed to permit easy installation from source.
The pkg_admin audit command locates any installed package which has been mentioned in security advisories as having vulnerabilities.
