# Instructions

pkgsrc bootstrap installs several tools whose names happen to match programs
already provided by DragonFly. The two sets of package tools are not
interchangeable, so you'll need to decide which ones should appear earlier in
your PATH -- probably pkgsrc paths before system ones.


# Status

pkgsrc bootstrap has been tested on DragonFly 6.4.0 with the system-provided
GCC.

Once bootstrapped, many packages build without issue. There are several
high-profile packages which currently are not available, such as lang/rust.
